STOP PRESS: New publication - St Andrew's Church, Spratton.  A new guide book to mark the 900th anniversary of the founding of the church (see Publications).

Spratton Local History Society was founded in 1999 with the aim of bringing together people with an interest in the history of Spratton, Northamptonshire and the surrounding area. In 2017 we received the award Northamptonshire Heritage Organisation for the year from the Northamptonshire Heritage Forum and were also the recipient of the prestigeous national E-Alan Ball Award for best Local History e-publication 2017 by the British Association for Local History.

We have regular meetings, usually with speakers, undertake local history research and hold exhibitions and events - most recently a commemoration of Spratton men & women who served in the First World War. We have also published five books about the history of Spratton (see Publications)

Additionally we collaborate with other societies, give guided tours of the church and village, give illustrated talks, maintain archives of old photographs, maps & drawings and a genealogical database of the many families and residents of the village in the 19th century.

Membership, welcome to anyone with an interest in Spratton, costs £5 per year.
