- Arrived in NZ 1851. Sheep Farmer North Island NZ to 1858. Sailed for UK 1n 18884. Rented LamportHall 1886 & Spratton Grange, of which tennant between 1883 -1914.. Leased Lamport Hall prior to moving to Spratton. Keen follower of the Pytchely hounds, although alone in family with this passion. From Spratton moved to Parnham House, Beaminster, Dorset. In 1901 the domestic household included a Governess, 11 indoor staff, a Head Gardener with unspecified additional help. Had joined his elder brother William Sefton Moorhouse in NZ in1859, returning to England after his marriage. [1, 4, 6, 8, 9]
