Charles James Branson was the son of Libious & Mary Branson. lived in Toby's Turn, later in Rose Cottage (High Street) then Broomhill Farm, (Living in Spratton Lodge) where he was Farm Manager & Bailiff. Market Garden business of 7 acres just outside Spratton and a Haulage business. Home service in Royal Flying Corps in WW1. Emigrated to Canada 1929 with wife Florence and children Grace, Richard, Horace, Arthur, Phyllis and Alice. His son Arthur (pictured) had emigrated the previous year.
Arthur's daughter Heather says that he always considered Spratton to be "home".
