The farm hands at Olde House Farm (taken by Peter Poole) who spent a year there 'learning' farming) with, second from left, Charles Gilby. Other hands were Micky Cook (on the left), and (not necessarily in this photograph) Brownie (foreman and milked the cow house), Frank (who was a law unto himself and never took orders from Brownie and did the hedge-laying), and Wilkie (who looked after the three horses Prince, Joe and Bridget). There were also two prisoners of war working on the farm (even though it was two years after the end of the war), and one of these is clearly seen with PW on his trousers, as may well be the other one on the right.
