1865 - Farm Sale map
Map re sale, at the Peacock Hotel and by auction (by Mr Samuel Perkins), of a Freehold (Tithe-Free) Estate. Lot 1 came to auction again (W J Pierce and Thorpe), at the same venue, on 15th June 1882, when it was put up for sale as 9 Lots. Sadly the original maps have also disappeared from the Library, so the following information is 'lost' :- Lot 1 as outlined in blue above, Lot 2 as outlined in green, Lot 3 as outlined in red, Lots 4 - 9 being field numbers 11, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3.).
It is probable that this (and the 1882) map represent further attempts by Hackett's heirs to sell their land in Spratton, Lot 2 was almost certainly bought by Colonel Henry de Teissier in 1865 or soon after, to go with the land that he bought from Edward Butlin. Lot 1, which did not sell and was then split up, may perversely have all been sold in 1882 to Dr. Arnold who was the owner of this land (through his Trustees) in 1910
