The photo shows John Andrew (Jack or Jackie) Wykes 1896-1979 who married Ethel (no children). Jack and Ethel "hawked round the villages selling fruit and veg with their horse and cart - some grown by the family. Jack was the son of William Wykes (1854-1947) and Hannah Manning (1857-1939)". Jack lost part of his legs in the war. He enlisted at Brixworth on 11 December 1915 and was discharged on 4 July 1917.
His older brother was Alwyn Wykes 1885-1951 who married Isabel Florence Green a war widow. He too was wounded and "had a plate in his head".
