In 1999 SLHS took a decision to create an electronic archive of images on computer in preference to holding original photographs or other documents. All the necessary equipment was obtained with the help of a lottery grant from Awards For All.

We would be very pleased to receive additional photographic material to add to the present archive of some 1300 images. Buildings, events of any type (weddings, social, sporting), transport and groups, all with an obvious Spratton context are of particular interest. Individual portraits are especially interesting from the early part of the 20th century (or earlier), from WW1 or WW2, or related to the 80 or so family names on the family history database. We have a good collection of photographs from the first half of the 20th century and from the 1980s onwards, but we are quite short of material from the 1960s and 1970s. We should also like to have photographs of recent events in the village because these are also part of our history.
